What you'll be doing:
- General management of a high-performing energy recovery/energy from waste facility, including the direct management of 6 employees and the indirect management of a further 34 employees.
- Manage the ERF in line with Veolia Minimum Requirement standard, Environmental Permit requirements, ISO standards, and safety systems; record and process accidents and incidents; and ensure inspections are completed and actions closed out in a timely manner.
- Prepare annual budgets for O&M, waste brokerage business, and incinerator bottom ash disposal; manage P&L responsibilities; and report on plant performance including budgets, CAPEX, and plant availability.
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders, ensure delivery of client contracts and compliance, drive high levels of contract performance, and maintain close working relationships between customers, operational, and commercial teams.
- Lead strategic planning of future works, maintain and improve operational excellence by applying best practice and safety standards, and support consistency between ERFs while liaising with relevant experts to design and implement technical solutions.
- Chair Executive Committee meetings and attend Audit and Board committee meetings, reporting directly to Veolia Senior Management teams and the Joint Venture Executive Committee.

What we're looking for:
- Previous management experience in Energy from Waste or Power Generation with a proven track record of leading large teams and delivering operational performance objectives.
- Strong financial management and P&L oversight experience, with the ability to prepare budgets, manage CAPEX, and report on financial performance across multiple business areas.
- In-depth experience of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance requirements, including familiarity with regulatory frameworks, permit requirements, and safety management systems in industrial or process-based environments.
- Advanced relationship management and effective communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders at senior levels, including boards and executive committees.
- Expertise in engineering with previous technical experience from a continuous process background.
- Negotiating and influencing skills with strong commercial acumen, enabling the ability to drive contract performance, manage stakeholder expectations, and support business development opportunities.
