About The Role
This is a home-based role offering a salary of up to £60,000, focused on developing bespoke functionality for ERP customers using Java, JavaScript, and SQL. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to understand their specific business quirks and requirements, translating these into technical specifications and solutions. The role involves creating broad conceptual overviews and detailed requirement documents, which are then passed to the technical team for implementation. You will have the opportunity to engage directly with clients, conducting occasional visits to understand their needs better and provide tailored solutions. These visits are flexible and can be scheduled at your convenience, with team meetings held every two months near Nottingham, which you will need to attend.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development, particularly with Java, JavaScript, and SQL. Recent hands-on experience working with ERP functionalities such as warehousing, stock management, order processing, financial reporting, manufacturing, MRP, and production is essential. An understanding of manufacturing processes will be highly advantageous, enabling you to grasp client requirements more quickly and deliver effective solutions. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude towards client engagement and technical development. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if equivalent practical experience is demonstrated.
Responsibilities
- Develop and customize bespoke ERP functionality based on client specifications, ensuring solutions are aligned with their unique business processes.
- Collaborate with clients to gather detailed requirements, creating comprehensive requirement documents and conceptual overviews.
- Work closely with the technical team to translate specifications into functional solutions, providing ongoing support during implementation.
- Conduct occasional client visits to better understand their needs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients and internal teams throughout project lifecycles.
- Participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions to stay updated on best practices and company standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team and organization to enhance service delivery and technical capabilities.
