The Opportunity
A major international organisation is seeking an experienced Global Financial Systems & ERP Director to provide maternity cover within its Record to Report function.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for the performance, stability, governance and transformation of global Finance Systems and ERP Security. You will lead a team of 16 direct reports, across permanent and contractor resources, within a wider global function of around 50.
The role sits at the intersection of Finance, Technology and ERP, with accountability across core financial systems, SAP, ERP security, controls, operational support and major transformation programmes.
A significant focus will be supporting the organisation through its SAP ECC to S/4HANA transformation, while ensuring critical Finance Systems remain stable and effective for BAU and financial close.
What You'll Do
- Lead global Finance Systems Maintenance and ERP Security teams, providing clear direction, coaching and challenge.
- Own the stability, performance and operational effectiveness of core Finance Systems, including SAP ECC, S/4HANA, SAP GRC and integrated applications.
- Oversee ERP roles, access, Segregation of Duties and critical access processes.
- Ensure systems and processes support SOX, audit and wider Finance/IT control requirements.
- Provide leadership and challenge across major ERP transformation and technology programmes.
- Ensure Finance Systems are appropriately represented through design, testing, cutover and implementation.
- Balance major transformation activity with BAU, financial close and operational stability.
- Drive continuous improvement, automation, control enhancement and operational excellence.
- Manage senior stakeholders across Finance, Technology, Audit, Risk and wider business functions.
- Oversee third-party, contractor and managed-service delivery across a global environment.
- Translate complex technology and systems issues into clear business risks, decisions and outcomes.
- Ensure teams have the right priorities, resources and support to deliver effectively.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a senior Finance Systems / ERP leader, rather than a pure SAP Security specialist.
You'll Ideally Bring
- Significant leadership experience across Finance Systems, ERP or Financial Technology.
- Strong knowledge of SAP ECC / S/4HANA, with SAP GRC and ERP security experience highly relevant.
- Experience across financial systems, controls, SOX and audit.
- A track record of leading sizeable, geographically distributed teams.
- Experience delivering large-scale ERP transformation and business process improvement.
- Strong understanding of the balance between BAU operations and transformation delivery.
- Excellent senior stakeholder and influencing skills.
- Experience working across Finance and Technology, with the ability to bridge technical and commercial/business requirements.
- Experience managing a mix of employees, contractors and third-party providers.
- The adaptability to step into an established environment and make an impact quickly.
- Flexibility to work across UK and US time zones when required.
