Manchester (2/3 days per week on site, rest remote)
6 month contract, with potential view to extend possible extension
£625 per day

Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on ERP Project Manager to lead a significant upgrade of a legacy system.
The platform supports a range of core business and finance processes and includes bespoke functionality. The project will involve upgrading the existing environment and supporting its migration to a modern cloud-based platform.
Working on the client side, you will take end-to-end ownership of the project and coordinate delivery across business teams, internal technology stakeholders and an appointed implementation partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Scope, plan and deliver the ERP upgrade and cloud migration.
- Establish effective project governance, controls, reporting and risk management.
- Own the integrated project plan, including milestones, dependencies, actions and priorities.
- Coordinate business and finance stakeholders throughout the upgrade and transition.
- Manage the relationship with the third-party implementation partner, driving delivery against the agreed plan.
- Work with internal technology teams to coordinate infrastructure, network, integration and data-flow changes.
- Manage project scope and priorities throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Lead stakeholder engagement across business and technology functions.
- Support business readiness, change management, testing, cutover and transition.
- Identify and plan any follow-on improvement activity outside the immediate upgrade scope.

Essential Experience
- Strong, hands-on project management experience delivering ERP upgrades or migrations.
- Demonstrable ownership of complex project plans, governance, risks, dependencies and delivery actions.
- Experience delivering ERP projects involving finance teams and cross-functional technology stakeholders.
- Experience managing third-party software or implementation partners.
- Ability to manage complex, bespoke environments where standard upgrade approaches may not be sufficient.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge, escalate and drive decisions.
- Experience with SAP Business One, Sage, SunSystems or a comparable finance or accounting platform.

Desirable Experience
- Direct SAP Business One upgrade or migration experience.
- Experience upgrading legacy ERP environments.
- Experience migrating ERP platforms or workloads to a cloud-based environment.
- A finance or accounting background, ideally supported by a recognised qualification.
- Experience supporting finance-process change, testing and operational transition.
