Overview
Are you an experienced ERP Resource Planning and Workforce Management professional looking to play a key role in a major business transformation programme?
PM Group is undertaking a significant enterprise-wide transformation through the implementation of a new Group ERP platform. As part of this strategic initiative, we are seeking an experienced ERP Resource Planning & Resource Management Workstream Lead to drive the design, implementation and optimisation of resource planning capabilities across the organisation.
This role will be responsible for ensuring that the ERP solution enables effective resource allocation, workforce planning, capacity management, utilisation tracking and forecasting across PM Group's project delivery organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Project Delivery, Finance, HR/HCM and implementation partners to establish future-state resource management processes, governance structures and reporting frameworks that support business growth and operational excellence.
This is a 12-month contract role, operating under a hybrid working model.
Responsibilities
ERP Resource Planning & System Implementation:
- Lead the Resource Planning and Resource Management workstream throughout the ERP implementation lifecycle, from design and configuration through testing, deployment and business adoption.
- Act as the primary business lead for resource planning, resource allocation, workforce management and capacity planning requirements within the ERP programme.
- Partner with business stakeholders, functional leads, SMEs and implementation partners to define and validate resource management requirements and future-state processes.
- Review solution designs, system configurations and evolving ERP builds to ensure alignment with business resource planning needs and operating model objectives.
- Identify, assess and manage gaps between business requirements and standard ERP functionality, recommending appropriate configuration, process changes or system enhancements.
- Define and validate reporting, analytics and dashboard requirements supporting resource planning, capacity forecasting, utilisation reporting and workforce demand management.
- Support testing, training, change management and business readiness activities to ensure successful adoption of ERP resource planning capabilities.

Resource Management & Workforce Planning:
- Design and implement resource planning processes that provide visibility of resource capacity, availability, skills, utilisation and future demand across the business.
- Establish effective resource allocation and prioritisation processes that enable optimal deployment of project delivery resources.
- Develop workforce planning frameworks that align organisational capability with current and future project demand.
- Drive the implementation of resource forecasting, capacity planning and utilisation management processes within the ERP platform.
- Partner with Operations, Project Delivery, Finance and HR to ensure resource planning data supports strategic decision-making and organisational growth plans.
- Define and embed governance, controls and performance measures for resource management across the organisation.
- Support the transition from implementation to ongoing operational management of resource planning processes and system capabilities.
Programme & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead workstream planning, governance, reporting, risk management and issue resolution activities.
- Coordinate dependencies and integration points across ERP workstreams including Finance, HCM, Projects and Reporting.
- Engage senior stakeholders to drive alignment, decision-making and adoption of future-state resource management practices.
- Provide regular progress updates, recommendations and escalation management throughout the programme lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) would be advantageous.
- 10+ years' experience delivering ERP-enabled transformation programmes with significant responsibility for Resource Management, Workforce Planning, Resource Planning Systems or Project Portfolio Management functions.
- Proven experience leading resource planning, capacity planning or workforce management workstreams within large ERP implementations.
- Experience operating in engineering, professional services, consulting, construction, project-based or matrix organisations.
- Strong understanding of:
- Resource allocation and optimisation
- Capacity and demand planning
- Workforce planning and forecasting
- Resource utilisation management
- Skills and competency management
- Resource governance and reporting
- Project resource planning processes
- Experience implementing, managing or optimising Resource Management, PPM, PSA or Workforce Planning solutions.
- Experience with platforms such as Deltek, Workday, Planview, Clarity PPM, Oracle PPM, SAP PPM, SAP PS, Dynamics 365 Project Operations or similar resource planning systems would be highly advantageous.
