Systems Specialist
Location: Blackwood, South Wales (hybrid, two days on site)
Salary: £42k plus benefits
About the business
An industry-leading power solutions business specialising in the design, manufacture and commissioning of high quality switchgear systems. With a global reputation for engineering excellence, they serve major clients across Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Marine and Heavy Industry.
The role
This is a people-first systems role at the heart of the group. You will be the primary point of contact for the business's ERP and wider systems across multiple sites, keeping colleagues supported day to day and making systems feel simple for a workforce that includes plenty of non-technical users. It is as much about being approachable and proactive as it is technical, with a specialist third party behind you for the heavier development work.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for the group's ERP and business systems, including Business Central and Sage X3
- Manage and prioritise a busy support ticket queue, keeping the wider business running smoothly
- Support colleagues who find systems daunting, explaining things clearly and picking up the phone
- Go hands on with lighter technical work where needed, such as SQL, configuration and reporting
- Support system implementations, upgrades and continuous improvement across the application landscape
- Help drive change management, process adoption and standardisation across stakeholders
- Contribute to governance, controls and documentation

What we are looking for
- Solid experience supporting an ERP system, ideally Business Central or Sage X3, though broader ERP experience is welcome
- Comfortable managing a high volume support queue and prioritising against service levels
- A genuinely strong communicator who enjoys the people side as much as the technical side
- Some hands-on technical ability, for example SQL, configuration or report writing
- Commutable to Blackwood and able to be on site two days a week

Desirable
- Business Central or Sage X3 specifically
- Change management, governance or controls exposure
- ITIL, ITSM tooling or PLM exposure
- Experience of system implementations or upgrades
