Job Summary:
The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Division is seeking an innovative and results-driven ERP Technical Analyst. In this role, you will lead the hands-on technical execution, data integration, and automation required to optimize and maintain the State’s core CGI Advantage 4.0 Human Resource Management (HRM) and Financial systems.
Operating at the intersection of systems architecture and business operations, you will write custom SQL scripts, manage ETL processes, build workflow automations, and translate complex agency requirements into precise technical specifications. Beyond standard system maintenance, you will drive modern enterprise engineering by building automations via platforms like n8n and leveraging AI-enabled tools (Google Gemini, NotebookLM) to streamline data pipelines and application workflows.
The ideal candidate is a technical problem-solver who pairs strong database management (SQL/ETL) and integration skills with the communication ability needed to engage directly with business stakeholders.

Job Duties:
- Database & Data Integration Management: Write complex SQL queries, perform data reconciliation, execute data troubleshooting, and maintain ETL pipelines using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle) to ensure high data integrity and accuracy across systems.
- System Administration & Troubleshooting: Lead the technical troubleshooting, configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of CGI Advantage 4.0 HRM and Financial systems, serving as the technical liaison with vendors and infrastructure teams.
- Process Automation & API Integration: Architect and build enterprise workflow automations using n8n, develop API integrations, and implement AI productivity tools (Google Gemini, NotebookLM) to automate manual operations..
- Technical Requirement Translation & Mapping: Partner with agency business owners to conduct deep-dive process mapping, converting operational needs into functional/technical specs, workflow diagrams, and integration test scripts.
- Operations, SOPs & Deployment Support: Maintain availability to support critical patch windows, schema changes, and production code deployments (which may occasionally require off-hours work to ensure zero downtime for state agencies).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
- Relational database design, data modeling, and schema structures.
- ETL concepts, data transformation methodologies, and data warehousing principles.
- System integration architecture, REST/SOAP APIs, and webhook-driven automations.
- Workflow automation engines (e.g., n8n) and modern AI/LLM tools (Google Gemini, NotebookLM).
- Enterprise ERP architecture and business functions (HRM, Payroll, Financials).
- Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and Agile environments.
Skills in:
- Advanced SQL querying, data validation, performance tuning, and database troubleshooting.
- Developing and managing ETL jobs using tools like Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle).
- Configuring automation scripts, workflow pipelines, and system API endpoints.
- Translating high-level business problems into technical architecture diagrams and implementation specifications.
- Writing clean technical documentation, system specs, and deployment runbooks.
- Communicating complex technical solutions to non-technical business partners.
Ability to:
- Independently debug and resolve system errors, data inconsistencies, and batch process failures.
- Evaluate emerging technical tools, APIs, and AI models for practical enterprise implementation.
- Prioritize and manage concurrent technical deliverables under tight deadlines.
- Adapt quickly to evolving database infrastructure and cloud/on-prem hybrid systems.
- Work seamlessly with cross-functional teams comprising system admins, DBAs, developers, and agency directors.
Selective Preference(s):
- Demonstrated experience writing complex SQL queries and managing relational databases.
- Hands-on experience developing ETL pipelines using Pentaho Data Integration or similar tools (Talend, SSIS, Informatica).
- Hands-on experience building low-code/no-code or code-based automations using n8n, Zapier, or custom APIs.
- Direct technical support experience with CGI Advantage 4.0 HRM and Financial systems (or comparable enterprise ERPs like Workday, SAP, Oracle).
- Familiarity with practical application of AI tools (Google Gemini, NotebookLM) in technical workflows.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; AND at least three (3) to five (5) years of hands-on technical experience with SQL querying, ETL management, or systems analysis. (Equivalent combination of technical experience and education may be considered).
- Technical Pre-requisite: Proven, hands-on experience in writing SQL queries and data analysis.
- Background Check: Background and reference check, including state and federal criminal records fingerprint check.
