About Equinox
Equinox is a specialist Unit4 ERP consultancy. We work with organisations across all sectors to implement, support, and continuously improve their Unit4 platforms. We are a small, close-knit team, and we are deliberate about who we bring into it.
We do not do average. Every client engagement carries our name, and we hold ourselves to a standard that reflects that. If you are looking for a role where you can solve genuinely complex technical problems, work autonomously alongside a team of experts, and make a real difference to clients, this is it.
The Role
This is a technical consulting role at the heart of Equinox's delivery capability. You will not be on the service desk, but you will be the person the service desk turns to when something is complex, non-standard, or needs a deeper technical mind behind it.
You will work across technical fixes, project delivery, integration support, and the development of new approaches and tools that help our clients get more from their Unit4 platform. You think in systems. You enjoy finding elegant solutions to problems others find difficult. And you are as comfortable thinking creatively about how a client could use Unit4 better as you are resolving a configuration issue that nobody else has been able to crack.
This role suits someone with genuine technical depth in Unit4, someone who has gone beyond standard configuration and understands the platform at an architectural level, combined with the curiosity and commercial awareness to think about what comes next.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Serve as the escalation point for the service desk team, taking on the complex, the unusual, and the technically demanding issues that require deeper investigation and expertise
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring or systemic issues and design sustainable fixes rather than workarounds
- Advise and support service desk colleagues, sharing knowledge and building their capability without taking over their work
- Identify patterns in support activity that signal opportunities for process improvement, training, or platform enhancement
Technical Delivery & Project Support
- Contribute to Unit4 implementation, upgrade, and module rollout projects, taking ownership of the technical workstreams and supporting the wider delivery team
- Design and deliver technical configurations, workflow solutions, and system customisations in response to client requirements
- Build and support integrations between Unit4 and third-party systems, understanding data flow, API behaviour, and the technical dependencies involved
- Lead or contribute to technical scoping conversations, translating client requirements into practical solutions with clear effort and risk assessments
- Support testing, go-live, and hypercare phases on project work, providing the technical assurance the delivery team needs to sign off with confidence

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
