ESG Reporting Accountant

A multilateral development bank is seeking someone to support the delivery of externally assured sustainability and ESG reporting. The role sits within the finance and reporting function and contributes to the preparation of sustainability disclosures aligned with internationally recognised reporting standards and emerging regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of designated sections within annual sustainability and ESG reporting outputs.
  • Coordinate contributions from multiple business functions to ensure reporting is complete, consistent, and aligned with disclosure requirements.
  • Analyse, validate, and reconcile sustainability-related data and performance metrics.
  • Review and challenge information provided by stakeholders to improve disclosure quality and accuracy.
  • Support external assurance and audit activities, including responding to information requests and preparing supporting documentation.
  • Maintain robust reporting controls, governance processes, and documentation standards.
  • Research and interpret new sustainability reporting requirements and disclosure frameworks.
  • Collaborate with finance, risk, sustainability, climate, strategy, and data management teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and system capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of reporting methodologies and best practices across the organisation.

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Sustainability, Environmental Studies
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) preferred or in progress.
  • Additional ESG or sustainability-related certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience in sustainability reporting, ESG disclosures, climate reporting, external audit, advisory services, or related consulting work.
