We are looking for an ESG Analyst to join our successful ESG team. This role is home based with occasional travel to offices required.
Role and Responsibilities
You will support the preparations of ESG disclosures to our industrial, commercial, and public sector customers, from SECR, Scope 3 inventories, Net-Zero Strategies, TCFD, CDP, PRI, and other ESG Disclosure frameworks, i.e., GRI, SASB, GRESB. In addition, you will support the ESG team to create effective client strategies for setting and achieving ambitious emission reduction targets and other ESG impacts. Finally, you will support the development of client solutions to develop ESG services and ensure they remain market leading as this market evolves.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Support in conducting data analysis and report production in the delivery of strategic ESG and reporting services, with focus on: Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions calculations, including production of SECR disclosures, TCFD, Climate Scenarios, CDP and other ESG Disclosures and Assessments
- Assess if SECR, ESOS, TCFD, CFD, CSRD and CS3D regulations capture a company.
- Net-Zero Strategy development and Science-Based Target setting
- ESOS annual reporting and compliance report
- Coordinate with analysts across Inspired (i.e. energy accounting and optimisation) to ensure that client data is correct and up to date
- Awareness of other ESG-related regulations, i.e. CBAM and PPN06-21.
- Able to critically assess data independently as well as emerging ESG regulations and how they apply to different companies in different sectors across different geographies.
- Assess the severity of problems (i.e. client issues, complex calculations), draft solutions, and communicate concerns and solutions with the team manager/senior analyst.
- Support in collating and analysing technical and financial data on environmental, social and governance solutions to provide practical and commercial information to customers
- Conduct research and analysis to develop our evidence based in climate scenarios, greenhouse gas emissions and net-zero and input into external communications
- Attend internal and customer meetings / video conferences as required, managing the communication of progress updates internally and with customers.
- Intermediate knowledge of excel, able to use basic through to complex formulas including (but not limited to) AVERAGE, SUMIF/S, VLOOKUPS and waterfall charts.
- Create client ready PowerPoint decks with limited support
- Produce client ready reports including correct structure with limited support
- In time, lead on smaller projects and support colleagues (other ESG Analysts) with their skill development, as they support you as the project lead.
- Read and comply with the company Health & Safety Policy; taking reasonable care for the Health & Safety of themselves and others; co-operate with managers and other employees in fulfilling our objectives and statutory duties.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Essential
- Degree in STEM / Humanities discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Awareness of and interest in ESG, climate change mitigation and Net-Zero strategies and the global and national policy drivers
- Ability to support processing complex technical data and concepts into client-ready information
- Advanced user of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong report writing capabilities
- Ability to work across multiple projects
Desirable:
- 2+ years of experience in consultancy or analytical roles, focusing on ESG, carbon or broader environmental management
- Experience of carbon footprint calculations including Scope 1 and 2 and SECR reporting
- Experience of producing Scope 3 emissions inventories
- Experience reporting & compliance schemes such as CDP
- Product life cycle assessment
