We're passionate about creating exceptional places for students to live and learn, and this opportunity plays a key role in supporting UPP's environmental, energy and broader ESG performance.
We are looking for an ESG Analyst to join our Energy & ESG team to help drive the accuracy, integrity and continuous improvement of ESG data, reporting and environmental management processes across UPP.
Working closely with the Director of Energy & ESG, Sustainability Project Coordinator and stakeholders across the business, you'll support external reporting, compliance tracking, data analysis and sustainability initiatives while helping to improve operational and ESG performance across our national portfolio.
You'll have the opportunity to support key sustainability initiatives, influence data-led decision making and contribute to meaningful environmental and ESG outcomes across a diverse property portfolio. This role is based in our award-winning London office and offers hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, validate and maintain ESG data across environmental, social and governance themes, ensuring accuracy and completeness for internal and external reporting.
- Produce benchmarking, performance reporting and data quality assurance processes for utilities, carbon and ESG metrics.
- Support the preparation and submission of ESG disclosures, including GRESB, GRI and SECR reporting.
- Produce regular reporting on utilities, carbon and ESG performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to UPP's Sustainability Report, investor ESG reporting and sustainability performance updates.
- Support the ongoing management of UPP's ISO14001-certified Environmental Management System and environmental compliance activities.
- Assist with audits, accreditations and environmental reporting requirements.
- Monitor utility consumption data, investigate anomalies and support metering and data automation improvement projects.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, university partners and external stakeholders to support ESG reporting and sustainability initiatives.
- Support the development of dashboards, reporting tools and AI-enabled solutions that improve data quality, insight and efficiency.

Requirements
- Experience collecting, analysing, validating and reporting data within a professional environment. With advanced Microsoft Excel and data management skills, including working with large datasets.
- Experience supporting or contributing to external ESG or sustainability disclosures (e.g. GRESB, SECR, GRI or equivalent).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to different audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- An academic or professional foundation in data analytics or other numerate / scientific discipline.
- A genuine interest in ESG and environmental impacts.
- Highly analytical and organised, with an attention to detail and a passion for continuous improvement.

Advantages
- Experience within property, real estate, infrastructure or facilities management environments, along with a familiarity with Power BI, dashboards and visualisation tools would also be an advantage for this role.

- Salary up to £40k
