About the Role

A leading global real estate private equity investment manager is seeking an ESG/Sustainability Associate to join its London team, supporting a diverse international portfolio across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.

Role Description

Working within a lean sustainability function, this is a broad, hands-on role combining portfolio sustainability, asset-level value creation, data and reporting, regulatory requirements and responsible investment. The successful candidate will work particularly closely with Asset Management teams and operating partners, helping identify and implement sustainability initiatives while assessing them through a commercial investment lens. This could include energy efficiency, renewable energy, building improvements, certifications, climate risk and other operational initiatives. This is not a purely technical ESG or reporting position.

The successful candidate will understand sustainability intrinsically but will also recognise that initiatives need to make sense within a returns-focused private equity investment strategy. The ability to understand asset business plans, investment returns, capital expenditure and value creation will therefore be highly valuable.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
