Overview Of The Role

We are seeking a motivated and professional ESOL & Functional Skills Lead to join our Product Development team.

Reporting to the Group Head of Products, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality services aligned with NOCN's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and reviewing of ESOL and Functional Skills qualifications.
  • Lead the subject-specialist development, review, and continuous improvement of ESOL and Functional Skills qualifications, resources, and support materials.
  • Design, develop, and review products following NOCN Group processes and procedures to meet customer demand and expectations, and the requirements of external quality assurance regulatory and relevant sector bodies.
  • Work with the exams manager to update assessment strategies in line with qualification changes.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks (e.g., Ofqual requirements, CEFR standards where applicable).
  • Act as the organisation's subject matter expert for both ESOL and Functional Skills.

About You

  • Educated to Level 4
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
  • Significant experience in ESOL teaching, assessment, or qualification development.
  • Strong understanding of language assessment principles and frameworks (e.g., CEFR).
  • Experience working within an awarding organisation or similar regulated environment.
  • Experience with digital or online assessment delivery.
