Job Details

ESOL Lecturer

Location: Northwest London
Salary: £33,429 to £46,618 per annum including London Weighting
Job Type: Full-time

Our Client are seeking to appoint a full-time ESOL Lecturer to teach on both full and part-time ESOL courses across a range of levels from Pre-Entry to Level 2. This role includes delivering group tutorials, numeracy, and IT for ESOL, with a focus on High Needs learners. The position may also involve some evening teaching.

Day-to-day Of The Role

  • Deliver engaging and effective ESOL lessons to a diverse group of learners, including High Needs students, across various levels from Pre-Entry to Level 2.
  • Conduct group tutorials and provide personalised support to enhance student learning and success.
  • Teach numeracy and IT/Essential Digital Skills to ESOL students, integrating these skills into the language learning process.
  • Prepare and deliver vocational subjects from Entry to Level 1.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage and guide learners.
  • Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure the courses meet the needs of the students and comply with the latest educational standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree or minimum of Level 3 qualification in a relevant vocational area.
  • Approved English Language Specialist Teaching qualification (minimum CELTA/Cert TESOL).
  • Experience teaching ESOL in an FE setting to adults and young learners, including those with High Needs.
  • Ability to deliver Numeracy, IT/Essential Digital Skills, and vocational subjects (Entry to Level 1) to ESOL students.
  • Possession of a Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector, or willingness to work towards this, with support from the College.
