Residential Estates / Facilities Operative

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Location: 9 - 13 Residential Blocks & Civic Centre (Addlestone & Egham)

Driving Licence: Desirable

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable and practical Residential Estates / Facilities Operative to support the day-to-day maintenance, cleanliness and upkeep of the local civic centre and numerous residential blocks.

The role will involve responding to residents' needs and reactive requests, carrying out general facilities duties, maintaining communal areas and external grounds, and ensuring the buildings and surrounding areas are clean, safe and well presented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests and residents' day-to-day needs.
  • Carry out basic maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing repairs and general handyman duties.
  • Move and manage confidential waste in accordance with site procedures.
  • Receive, sort and distribute deliveries across the residential blocks.
  • Maintain clean, tidy and well-organised bin stores, including waste area checks.
  • Undertake general cleaning of communal areas where required.
  • Carry out litter picking, weeding and general grounds maintenance.
  • Maintain external areas to a high standard, ensuring they are clean, safe and presentable.
  • Carry out routine cleanliness and safety checks within the multi-storey car park.
  • Identify defects, hazards or maintenance issues and report/escalate where specialist assistance is required.
  • Support contractors and other facilities teams when required.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a facilities, estates, maintenance, property or residential environment.
  • A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to undertake basic maintenance tasks.
  • Basic plumbing or general handyman experience.
  • Good communication and customer service skills, particularly when dealing with residents.
  • The ability to work independently and prioritise reactive tasks.
  • Good attention to detail and a strong awareness of health and safety.
  • A reliable and flexible approach to supporting the wider estates operation.
  • Full UK driving licence essential.
