Location: Central Depot, GL51 9JZ
Salary: £25,583-£25,989 per annum
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week

Estate Operative - The Role
As an Estate Operative, you will deliver essential cleaning and maintenance services across our managed properties. You will clean communal areas in flats and houses, remove fly-tipped waste, and work alongside other council teams to maintain safe and clean spaces for residents. Working under the direction of the Estate Services Team Leader, you will use specialist equipment and digital systems to complete your duties to an agreed standard.

Estate Operative - Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular cleaning of communal areas, carpets, food waste bins, and windows using appropriate equipment and machinery
- Collect and safely dispose of fly-tipped waste and remove items from communal areas that pose fire risks, in accordance with legislation
- Record job details, evidence, and work completed using a PDA system, including photographs where required
- Report health and safety concerns and defects with vehicles, plant, and materials to your supervisor
Estate Operative - You
- Hold a current full driving licence and have experience with manual handling
- Have the ability to safely use cleaning equipment, handle sharps, and work unsupervised
- Can communicate courteously with customers, colleagues, and management, and work effectively as part of a team
- Possess a working knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and the ability to recognise safeguarding concerns
- Are willing to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Relevant NVQ qualification and previous cleaning experience is desirable
