About The Role
We are looking for an Estate Services Team Leader to support the day-to-day running of our estates, grounds, caretaking and voids service. Working closely with the Estates and Voids Service Lead, you will help coordinate and supervise operatives, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard for our residents.
This is a varied and hands-on role where you will support the clearance and cleaning of void properties, oversee site quality inspections, complete health and safety spot checks, lead toolbox talks and make sure staff have the right equipment and PPE for their work. You will also help plan daily workloads, manage stock and equipment, respond to operational queries and liaise with residents, contractors, temporary staff and agencies where required.
You will play an important part in delivering a high-quality customer-focused service across our housing estates, helping to ensure communal areas, grounds and void properties are maintained to the required standard. You will also be expected to work flexibly across the grounds and caretaking teams as business needs require.
About you
You will have experience of delivering a front-line service to customers, with a positive and practical approach to resolving day-to-day issues. You will be confident working as part of a team and able to communicate clearly and sensitively with residents, colleagues and contractors.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, organised and able to manage their time effectively. You will need good knowledge of health and safety procedures, experience of manual handling and the ability to use handheld devices such as tablets or PDAs. Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, gardening, cleaning or basic property maintenance would be beneficial.
You will bring strong leadership skills and be comfortable supporting, guiding and planning work for a team. Experience of team leadership or line management would be desirable, along with COSHH and Manual Handling knowledge, basic property maintenance skills, and an understanding of the importance of value for money when managing stock and equipment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
