I’m supporting an Essex Council with the recruitment of an Estates Surveyor, offering an exciting opportunity for an MRICS-qualified commercial property professional with strong Landlord & Tenant experience to manage a mixed commercial estate.

Estates Surveyor

  • Contract: 12 weeks initially, with a strong chance of extension
  • Hours: 37 per week
  • Location: Essex – 3 days office / 2 days remote
  • Rate: £450 day

Key requirements:

  • MRICS-qualified Chartered Surveyor (desirable)
  • Strong commercial Landlord & Tenant experience
  • Experience with rent reviews, lease renewals, lease re-gears, and new leases
  • Experience managing a mixed commercial/mixed-use property portfolio
  • Strong tenant, legal, finance, and senior stakeholder management
  • Experience with budget monitoring, income forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Local authority/public sector property experience desirable

The role will focus on managing Thurrock’s mixed commercial estate, acting as the main point of contact for tenants and leading on L&T transactions, while working closely with Legal and Finance around lease documentation, rental income, and financial reporting.
