About the Role
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, proactive professional with previous experience in site maintenance, caretaking, facilities management or a similar role. Experience working as a Caretaker within a school or other educational setting would be highly desirable.
The successful candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to maintaining a safe, secure, clean and well-functioning school environment.
A sound understanding of health and safety compliance is essential, with a relevant Health and Safety qualification being highly desirable. The candidate should have excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload effectively. They should be confident undertaking practical maintenance and site-related tasks, coordinating contractors and responding promptly to issues across the school site.
Responsibilities
- Work on-site at Mark Hall Academy
- Respond effectively to the day-to-day operational requirements of the site
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, cleanliness, security, and general site presentation
- Liaise confidently and professionally with staff, students, contractors, and external agencies
- Take ownership of issues and see tasks through to completion
