About this opportunity
In this role you will focus on supporting the effective management of the Council’s property portfolio, helping to ensure that assets remain fit for purpose and aligned with the Council’s Vision, Priorities and Asset Management Strategy. The role involves assisting the Estates team with a wide range of estates and valuation matters across Westmorland and Furness, providing accurate and timely information to the Council, partners and stakeholders as required. In addition, the postholder will support the delivery and acceleration of actions arising from the Council’s Asset Management Strategy, contributing to the efficient and strategic use of the Council’s assets.

The role also supports the Council’s locality-based property optimisation projects and wider financial delivery plans. This includes contributing to property sales and acquisitions, delivering savings and income generation initiatives, and supporting statutory asset valuation programmes. Through these activities, the postholder will play an important role in ensuring the Council’s property assets contribute effectively to service delivery, financial sustainability and long-term organisational objectives.
