Help keep BRE safe, compliant and operating at its best

Are you an organised and proactive facilities, estates or compliance professional looking for a role where you can make a real impact? At BRE, you'll play a key role in helping us maintain a safe, compliant and well-managed estate, ensuring our buildings, infrastructure and services support the work we do every day.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise across estates operations, compliance management and contractor oversight while working with a wide range of stakeholders across our Watford site.

About The Role

As Estates Maintenance and Compliance Officer, you will support the Estates Senior Operations (FM) Manager in the day-to-day operation of the BRE estate. You will be responsible for helping to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance requirements are met, maintaining accurate compliance records, coordinating maintenance activities and managing a range of service providers and contractors.

Working across both hard and soft facilities management services, you'll play an important role in ensuring our buildings, grounds and infrastructure remain safe, compliant, efficient and fit for purpose. You'll work closely with Estates colleagues, contractors, suppliers, SHE teams and tenants to deliver a high standard of service and support continuous improvement across the estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements across the estate.
  • Manage and maintain compliance records, asset registers, inspection schedules, certificates and related documentation.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance activities, statutory inspections and remedial works.
  • Manage designated service contracts and monitor contractor performance against agreed standards and KPIs.
  • Support contractor control processes, including permits to work, inductions and documentation reviews.
  • Identify, escalate and help resolve compliance, maintenance and operational risks.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers to ensure work is delivered safely and effectively.
  • Support audits, compliance reporting and preparation for external inspections.
  • Assist with purchase orders, invoice reviews and value-for-money assessments.
  • Contribute to improvements in estates processes, systems and ways of working.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
