Maintenance Worker Specialist (mechanical bias)
The Royal Wolverhampton Hospital NHS Trust is looking to appoint a Maintenance Worker Specialist (mechanical bias). The role is suitable for a mechanical tradesperson from a plumbing, engineering or pipefitting background who has completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent training programme with several years post training experience. Good fault finding and problem-solving skills are essential as is a willingness to undertake additional training when required. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of heating, ventilation systems and water services. Any previous steam systems experience would be advantageous.
Shift Pattern
- Night shifts, Weekends, and Bank Holidays.
- Night shifts will be paid at time +30% of the standard rate.
- Sunday/Bank Holiday shifts will be paid at time +60% of the standard rate.
- A further 15% RRP payment is paid and reviewed annually (every April).

About the Role
- The successful applicant will be part of a modernising team being motivated, forward thinking, enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about delivering a first-class efficient service and will be part of a shift rota.
- Demonstrate highly developed physical and technical skills.
- Keen willingness to learn and develop new skills particularly associated with building management controls, steam and pressure systems etc.
- Successful applicants will be able to repair complex faults on a wide range of systems and facilitate such works having freedom to prioritise activity to maximise performance.
