Estates Manager

Volkswagen Group Network Development is recruiting a full-time Estates Manager.

Managing the group property portfolio and support Volkswagen Group’s strategic retail property requirements across five brands. The role combines transaction management, professional advice, capital project support and management of external consultants and advisors.

The right candidate will bring strong property expertise, commercial awareness and fresh thinking that strengthens our ability to support VWG's strategic property objectives across multiple brands. In a rapidly evolving automotive industry, they will contribute new perspectives, build strong stakeholder relationships, and help ensure our property portfolio continues to support the changing needs of the business.

This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, offering exposure to complex property transactions, major infrastructure projects and a diverse range of stakeholders across Volkswagen Group UK's nationwide estate.

Skills & experience you can bring to the role:

  • Excellent commercial awareness
  • Good interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with different business units
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good commercial negotiator
  • Experience in general surveying practice client-based property management function
  • Managing external lawyers, agents, and consultants to deliver property transactions and works projects
  • RICS member

No two weeks are the same, but a typical week could look like:

  • Reviewing and progressing a range of property matters, from lease renewals, acquisitions, and disposals to rent reviews, landlord and tenant issues, and operational estate management.
  • Working closely with external consultants, surveyors, solicitors, landlords, and internal stakeholders to negotiate transactions, manage risks, and protect Volkswagen Group UK's property interests.
  • Supporting strategic projects across the retailer network, including land acquisitions, infrastructure upgrades, utility agreements, and property development initiatives.
  • Analyzing financial exposure across the estate, including business rates forecasting, lease liabilities, professional fees, and budget planning.
  • Leading or contributing to project and programme meetings, ensuring property initiatives remain on track, risks are managed, and business objectives are delivered.
  • Providing expert property advice to a variety of stakeholders, balancing commercial opportunity, legal obligations, and operational requirements across a national portfolio.
