Estates Manager | Retail | East Midlands

Zachary Daniels Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a market leading retail business in the appointment of an Estates Manager to bring into their substantial business.

A trusted leader within multiple sub sectors of retail, operating throughout the world, this is a great opportunity to join a business that can offer variety in your day to day and also significant career development opportunities.

The role:

As Estates Manager you will be based in their support office in the East Midlands with regular travel out across the business. The Estates Team operates as a trusted property advisor to the business, often being the lynchpin between other key departments.

You will advise across a large, mature portfolio with significant opportunities to add and return value year-on-year whether through new or existing footprint.

The successful candidate will have good all-round property experience, commercial acumen and a high level of drive to succeed.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Regional Estates Manager you will have responsibility for a diverse workload including:

  • Acquisition of new stores in some of the busiest high streets and retail parks
  • Negotiating the best commercial terms in the market with Landlords on all aspects of lease renewals, rental transactions and property management.
  • Leading the performance of external advisors to deliver on time and under budget.
  • Actively managing a portfolio of stores to ensure lease compliance
  • Advising the business on all aspects of property management including lease obligations, dilapidations and actively managing our sublet portfolio.
  • Assisting teams on business projects to deliver measurable results.
  • Financially appraising and evaluating property transactions along with preparing and presenting approval papers.

You'll have a degree in Real Estate Management and will be a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with 5 years post qualification experience.

  • Commercially aware, being analytical and use financial knowledge to bring an innovative approach to property solutions.
  • Self-motivated and results focused to meet budget requirements with trust.
