Estates Manager - Harbour Healthcare

Job Title: Estates Manager

Location: North East Region with regular travel to sites.

Salary: £50,000 per annum (depending on experience), plus £5,000 Car Allowance

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Estates Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, and development of our property portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised professional who can ensure our estates are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and maintained to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will lead on all aspects of estate and facilities management, working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external partners to deliver a high-quality environment that supports operational and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the estate portfolio.
  • Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
  • Oversee facilities management services, including security, cleaning, grounds maintenance, and utilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
  • Manage external contractors and service providers, ensuring performance standards are met.
  • Prepare and manage estate budgets, monitoring expenditure and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Lead on property improvement projects, refurbishments, and capital works programmes.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
  • Manage lease agreements, property records, and estate documentation where applicable.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and drive environmental improvements across the estate.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to estates and facilities teams.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience in an Estates Manager, Facilities Manager, Property Manager, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance, facilities management, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing budgets and contractors.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Professional qualification in Facilities Management, Property Management, Building Services, or a related discipline.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Membership of IWFM, RICS, or a relevant professional body.
  • Experience managing multi-site estates.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and ESG initiatives.
