DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

At Skanska, we’re shaping the way we live, work and connect. As one of the world’s largest construction and development companies, we work together with customers, communities and partners to shape a better society.

You will be working in the Building Services OU where we bring Skanska’s purpose to build for a better society to life—creating healthy workplaces, comfortable homes and efficient facilities that improve people’s lives. Through collaboration and innovation, we deliver high-quality solutions that make a lasting, positive impact for people and communities.

We're supporting hospitals nationwide, ensuring clean, well-ventilated, and heated spaces that aid patient recovery. We help cut energy use, carbon emissions, and waste costs, drawing on global best practice from over 400 healthcare projects (including Royal London, St Bartholomew’s, Mansfield, Papworth, Derby).

We are currently looking for an Estates Officer (Building Bias) who will contribute to all aspects of service delivery across King’s Mill, Mansfield Community, and Newark Hospitals.

As the Estates Officer (Building Bias), you will:

  • Oversee inspection, maintenance and compliance of building elements, including Windows, Fire doors/stopping systems and general building fabric (internal & external).
  • Maintain effective management and control of estate assets ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. Promote and enforce Health & Safety compliance and quality standards.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors ensuring work is delivered in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Participate in the Emergency On-Call Rota, responding to urgent operational issues.
  • Act as Authorised Person (AP) or Responsible Person (RP) for relevant systems where qualified.
  • Work collaboratively with the Estates Team and wider stakeholders and represent the Estates Department and Facilities Directorate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
