Summary

We are seeking an experienced Estates Surveyor to manage a diverse property portfolio within a Local Authority setting. This role offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time options available. The position supports hybrid working, requiring office attendance only as necessary, with occasional local site visits in Kidderminster. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing mixed property portfolios, conducting valuations, and handling various landlord and tenant matters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a mixed commercial and operational property portfolio.
  • Conduct property valuations for various purposes.
  • Deliver landlord and tenant services across different asset types.
  • Negotiate lease renewals, rent reviews, licenses, and other property agreements.
  • Oversee lettings and tenancy matters.
  • Support general estate management activities.
  • Provide professional property advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct property inspections and site visits as needed.
  • Assist with income generation and asset optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and professional standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple service areas.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience as an Estates Surveyor within a Local Authority or Public Sector environment.
  • Proven track record in managing a mixed property portfolio.
  • Knowledge of commercial and industrial property estates.
  • Experience in property valuations.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Lettings
    • Lease Management
    • Landlord & Tenant Matters
    • Estate Management
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.

Desirable

  • MRICS qualification or working towards professional accreditation.
  • Experience in asset management and property strategy.
  • Familiarity with Local Government property procedures and regulations.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, acquisitions, or disposals.
