Estates Technical Support
Location: Defence Academy, Shrivenham, SN6 8LA
Salary: Competitive plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Perm/ FT/37 hours

As an Estates Technical Support in our Defence Academy team, you’ll help keep essential projects and daily operations running smoothly so colleagues can focus on delivering training and education that touches lives. Your work has purpose, supporting an environment that is safe, efficient, and ready for future needs.
You’ll support the Estates team in delivering projects and operational activities on time, on budget, and to an auditable standard. Through strong organisation, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, you’ll help create impactful solutions that support the Defence Academy community and contribute to a positive impact on communities.
What you’ll do as an Estates Technical Support
- Book visitors onto site, manage sign-in processes, issue keys, and support contractor access.
- Operate and administer the Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system, including closing completed work orders.
- Monitor target dates for work orders to help prevent service level agreement breaches.
- Complete administrative tasks including plotting, printing, filing, and checking operations and maintenance documentation.
- Maintain the technical library in both digital and hard copy formats, including updating SharePoint.
- Prepare meeting agendas and minutes and support wider team coordination activities.
- Update systems including Service Variations (SV), ARCS, and SharePoint.
- Produce, amend, and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and work instructions.
- Liaise with the Service Desk and end users at all levels.
- Provide support and cover for colleagues when required.

Does this sound like you?
- A good standard of education, ideally GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively using different methods.
- Proven organisational skills and confidence managing your own workload.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

Vetting and checks:
This role requires BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance, which includes identity verification, employment history, and criminal record checks. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be required.
