Established in 2006, Aspex UK are one of UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of architectural solutions from doorsets, risers, ironmongery and access control. We work on projects nationwide supplying UK’s top hotels, high-rise build-to-rent apartments, student accommodations to universities, and leading hospitals.
We are looking for an Estimating Manager… We are looking for an Estimating Manager to join our team based at our Leicester HQ and work across a varied portfolio of building projects.
You will play a vital role in supporting the generation of profitable tenders for our business. Working closely with Estimators and the wider team, you will help to estimate and oversea the preparation of doorset and ironmongery quotations.
This will involve identifying opportunities to minimise risk and maximise profit and contribute to winning contracts that deliver real value for our clients. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and mentor an estimating team while building strong relationships across our supply chain and customer base.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Estimating Manager, you will be supporting the team to deliver successful tenders and build a strong pipeline of profitable projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Leading and motivating the estimating team, promoting best practice and supporting their development
- Estimating costs and resources for projects
- Working with the procurement team to negotiate project specific rates with suppliers
- Contributing to the assessment, preparation and submission of tenders, working with technical team to ensure compliance
- Building and maintaining strong commercial relationships with customers, consultants and suppliers throughout the tender process
- Provide sales support to all our sales team
- Participating in handovers to the project management and production team
- Providing accurate reports and order forecasts
The successful Estimating Manager will have:
- Experience working for a manufacturer of doorsets or joinery products or may have worked for a main contractor or joinery / fitout sub-contractor
- Proficient in Excel with attention to detail
- Able to demonstrate leadership experience within an estimating team
- Able and willing to support, lead and mentor the estimating team, promoting best practice and meeting deadlines
- Have a conscientious working approach with excellent attention to detail and knowledge of benchmarking and cost planning
