Location: Ayrshire & Perth

Full-time | Permanent
Salary: DOE

TCES are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team, working across our Ayrshire and Perth locations and supporting projects across Scotland.

Working closely with our senior management, commercial and operational teams, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across civil engineering and infrastructure projects, including rail, highways, renewables and general civils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and client requirements
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive tender submissions
  • Undertake quantity take-offs and assess labour, plant and material requirements
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities
  • Work closely with operational and commercial teams throughout the tender process
  • Maintain an understanding of current market rates and supply chain pricing
  • Support tender handovers following successful contract awards
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

About You

We are looking for someone with previous estimating experience within civil engineering, construction or infrastructure, with strong commercial awareness and the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

Experience across rail, highways, drainage, earthworks or general civils would be advantageous. You’ll be organised, commercially focused and comfortable managing multiple tender opportunities and deadlines while working collaboratively with teams across the business.
