Future Build Recruitment are working with a well-established civil engineering specialist who are seeking an experienced Intermediate / Senior Estimator to strengthen their commercial team.
A strong civil engineering background is essential, with experience pricing and estimating a range of civil engineering projects.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, working closely with the commercial and operational teams to ensure projects are priced effectively and delivered within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed estimates and tenders for civil engineering projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Producing accurate cost plans and bills of quantities
- Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Identifying project risks, opportunities and potential cost savings
- Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
- Attending tender meetings and site visits where required
- Supporting the preparation of tender submissions
- Maintaining accurate estimating records and cost databases
- Working closely with the delivery team during the handover of successful tenders

Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within civil engineering
- Strong understanding of civil engineering construction methods and processes
- Experience pricing tenders from drawings and specifications
- Strong commercial and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Relevant civil engineering or construction qualification would be advantageous
