Estimator – Main Contractor
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive Salary + Package
An established Main Contractor is looking to appoint an Estimator to join their pre-construction team based out of their Birmingham office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with main contracting experience to join a business looking to strengthen its pre-construction function.
The Role
As Estimator, you will be involved throughout the tender process, working alongside the wider pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams to produce competitive and accurate tenders.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Producing accurate cost plans
- Identifying potential risks and opportunities within tenders
- Exploring value engineering opportunities
- Liaising with subcontractors and the wider supply chain
- Working closely with commercial, design, and operational teams
- Supporting tender presentations and adjudications
- Assisting with the handover of successfully secured projects to the delivery team
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience working as an Estimator within the construction industry
- Experience working for a Main Contractor
- A strong understanding of construction methods, costs, and tendering processes
- Good commercial awareness
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage tenders and work to deadlines
This is a permanent opportunity based in Birmingham and would suit an Estimator looking for their next long-term move within a main contracting environment.
