Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Estimator role based in Northampton. The Estimator will prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates for catering and bakery equipment projects, working closely with the sales team and engineers to interpret customer requirements. Day-to-day tasks include:

The role involves liaising with clients to clarify needs, updating estimates as project scopes change, and maintaining organized records of all quotations. The Estimator will also support internal process improvements by tracking estimate performance and contributing to more efficient costing practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to produce accurate cost estimates and work to deadlines.
  • Proficiency with office software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing), and the ability to work with estimating or CRM systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with sales teams, engineers, suppliers, and clients.
  • Organized and detail-focused approach, with good time management and the ability to handle multiple quotes simultaneously.
  • Experience in estimating, technical sales, or project coordination; knowledge of catering or bakery equipment is an advantage.
  • Relevant vocational or academic background in engineering, construction, business, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt to evolving client needs, and contribute to continuous improvement in estimating processes.
