Estimator / Senior Estimator
Location: West-based
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Level: Estimator to Senior Estimator
An established and growing construction business is looking to appoint an Estimator / Senior Estimator to join its team on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator looking to take the next step in their career, or a Senior Estimator seeking a new challenge within a progressive construction environment.
The Role
Working as part of the commercial team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a range of construction projects. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects are accurately priced and commercially viable.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing detailed estimates and tenders from drawings, specifications, and other project information
- Reviewing tender documentation and identifying risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options
- Obtaining and assessing quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
- Completing detailed take-offs and cost analysis
- Preparing competitive and accurate tender submissions
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors throughout the tender process
- Supporting the commercial team with pricing strategies and cost planning
- Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
- Contributing to the continued growth and success of the business

About You
We are open to candidates operating at Estimator through to Senior Estimator level, with the role and responsibilities tailored according to your experience.
You will ideally have:
- Previous estimating experience within the construction/building sector
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
- The ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Experience producing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider team
