Job Title: Estimator

Location: Near Southampton, Hampshire

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) + Car allowance + Benefits

About The Company

An established family-owned, award-winning main contractor with over 130 years of history across the South of England. Guided by their core prompt of Prompt, Polite, Thoughtful, they deliver exceptional commercial, educational, healthcare, and heritage construction projects ranging from GBP1m to GBP20m+.

The Hampshire office delivers high-profile schemes across Hampshire and the surrounding counties and they pride themselves on building strong relationships with supply chains, architects, and clients, ensuring quality and sustainability in everything they build.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze tender documentation, design drawings, and specifications to understand scope and risk.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and net budgets for two-stage, single-stage, and framework tenders.
  • Issue enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating incoming quotations for value and compliance.
  • Lead mid-tender and post-tender meetings with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Work alongside bid management and planning teams to craft competitive, high-value proposals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
