Estimator | London
KTS is looking for an experienced Estimator to join one of its clients, a well-established UK infrastructure contractor growing its work-winning capability in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with a strong civil engineering or infrastructure background who can take ownership of accurate, commercially robust tenders across Rail, Highways, Water or Energy projects.
- Location: London
- Employment: Permanent, full-time
- Salary: DOE
- Working pattern: Office-based during probation, moving to hybrid thereafter
The role will involve:
- Preparing detailed estimates for civil engineering and infrastructure tenders
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes, and tender documentation
- Building first-principles cost estimates covering labour, plant, materials, subcontractors, and preliminaries
- Obtaining, analysing, and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Identifying tender risks, opportunities, assumptions, and exclusions
- Working closely with commercial, engineering, planning, and operational teams
- Supporting tender reviews, client clarifications, presentations, and project handovers
- Managing multiple tenders while maintaining accuracy and commercial discipline

We’re looking for someone with:
- Estimating experience within civil engineering or infrastructure
- Experience across Rail, Highways, Water, or Energy
- Strong first-principles estimating and tender ownership
- Good understanding of supply-chain and subcontractor pricing
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach
- Confidence working in client-facing and tender-review environments
- Ability to work from the London office during probation
