Job Description: We’re Hiring! Join Our Estimation Team
Are you detail-oriented, highly organised, and ready to take the next step in your career? Barkwell is looking for a motivated individual to join our Estimation Team, playing a key role in delivering accurate and competitive project estimates for new-build plumbing and heating systems.
⭐️Role: Estimator Location: Okehampton
About the Role:
As an Estimator, you’ll prepare detailed cost estimates while supporting our project delivery team by ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with client needs. Working closely with multiple departments, you’ll assess project specifications, identify risks, and provide detailed pricing to drive project success.
⚡️Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Prepare detailed and competitive estimates for plumbing and heating projects.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing.
- Collaborate with design and procurement teams to align estimates with project objectives.
- Identify risks and propose value-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of tenders, quotes, and project details.
- Respond to client queries regarding project costs.
- Attend project site starts to provide insight into costings and estimates.

🌎What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in estimation, plumbing, heating, or a related field (advantageous).
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with installation on Airconditioning would be advantageous.
