Estimator - High-End Residential Construction

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Are you an experienced Estimator looking for the opportunity to work on exceptional, high-specification residential projects?
We're working with an established and highly regarded building contractor specialising in the delivery of bespoke, luxury homes and high-quality construction projects. Due to continued growth, they're looking for an Estimator to join their team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an Estimator who enjoys working on bespoke, design-led projects where quality, attention to detail and commercial accuracy are key.
The Role
As Estimator, you'll play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates and tenders, working closely with the pre-construction and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Preparing detailed estimates and tenders for high-end residential projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and other tender information
- Completing detailed take-offs and preparing bills of quantities
- Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Preparing accurate cost plans and tender submissions
- Identifying potential risks, omissions and opportunities within tenders
- Liaising with architects, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
- Negotiating quotations and ensuring best commercial value
- Assisting with the procurement process
- Supporting the commercial team with budgets and cost planning
- Maintaining accurate estimating records and databases
- Working closely with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to ensure a smooth handover from pre-construction to delivery

About You
We're looking for an Estimator with experience within construction, ideally gained within high-end residential, bespoke homes, luxury developments or other high-specification projects.
You'll Ideally Have
- Previous experience working as an Estimator within construction
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and costs
- Experience producing detailed estimates and tender submissions
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability
- Experience obtaining and analysing subcontractor quotations
- Strong understanding of drawings and specifications
- Good negotiation and communication skills
- A commercially focused and methodical approach
- The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
