MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting an Estimator for our client, Gilbert-Ash, a leading construction contractor delivering high-quality projects across the UK and Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to support the delivery of major projects through accurate cost planning, tender preparation and collaboration with project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions.
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documents to identify project requirements.
- Work closely with commercial, pre-construction and project teams to develop competitive bids.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and assess quotations.
- Analyse project costs, materials and construction methodologies.
- Support value engineering and cost optimisation opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.

Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry.
- Experience preparing tenders and estimates for large-scale construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and pricing.
- Ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/BTEC/Degree or equivalent).
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office packages.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
