We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join a growing pre-construction team in Chorley, supporting major infrastructure opportunities across the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in Rail, Highways, Water or Energy who enjoys building competitive tenders, solving complex problems and playing a key role in securing new projects.

📍 Location: Chorley
💰 Salary: Competitive + Car / Car Allowance
🏠 Agile / Hybrid Working

The Role

As Estimator, you’ll play an important role throughout the tender process, producing accurate and competitive estimates while identifying opportunities to minimise risk and maximise project profitability. You’ll work closely with engineering, planning, commercial and operational teams to develop strong tender submissions and ensure a smooth transition from pre-construction into project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed project cost and resource estimates
  • Produce competitive and commercially robust tender submissions
  • Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions
  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and the wider supply chain
  • Collaborate with engineering, planning and commercial teams
  • Support effective project handovers following successful tenders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes
  • Support and develop junior members of the estimating team

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous estimating experience within civil engineering or construction
  • Experience across Rail, Highways, Water and/or Energy projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Confident using Excel and Microsoft Office
  • A methodical and analytical approach to estimating
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
