Role Description
The Estimator role at Grid Line Ceilings and Partitions Limited is a full-time, on-site position based in West Lothian. The Estimator will review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for suspended ceilings and partition systems. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Conducting material take-offs
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing
- Preparing detailed quotations and tender submissions
- Collaborating with project managers and directors to align estimates with project requirements and timelines
- Updating cost databases and records
- Supporting value engineering
- Assessing project risks
- Contributing to ongoing improvements in estimating processes

Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Experience preparing material take-offs, cost breakdowns, and detailed project estimates for construction or fit-out projects
- Strong numerical, analytical, and Excel skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
- Previous estimating experience in ceilings, partitions, or related construction trades is highly beneficial
- Comfort with basic IT tools and estimating or project management software; willingness to learn new systems
- Relevant qualification in construction, quantity surveying, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
