Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Estimator to join our tendering team. The successful candidate will lead the production of tender estimates for our civil and M&E engineering projects. This role requires a proactive individual with a growth mindset, excellent leadership, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and submission of tender estimates for engineering projects.
- Manage all aspects of allocated tenders, from initial enquiry through to tender submission, including design co-ordination.
- Obtain and evaluate material and subcontractor quotations and prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Review tender programmes in collaboration with planners and delivery managers.
- Identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities within tender submissions.
- Identify tender ambiguities and shortfalls in information and provide suitable solutions.
- Ensure tender reviews and submissions comply with company procedures and quality standards.
- Support successful tender handovers to delivery teams.
- Mentor, develop and manage Estimators, promoting collaboration and continuous development.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, Forms of Contract, and the Group's HSQE Management Systems.
- Ensure all tenders promote safe methods of work and comply with statutory health and safety requirements.

Essential Criteria
- A degree in a relevant construction discipline or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the Construction Industry, either Civils and/or Mechanical & Electrical
- Understanding of the commercial aspects of construction contracts through relevant construction experience and performance on similar
- Able to plan, prioritise and manage work within fixed deadlines
- Significant estimating experience within the construction sector.
- Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of construction contracts.

Desirable Criteria
- Membership or pursuit of membership with: RICS, CIOB, or equivalent.
- Experience with industry standard software (Candy preferable)
