Experienced Construction Estimator/Assistant Estimator required to join a busy, expanding construction organisation. You will ideally be based on the M62 Corridor in Yorkshire or the North West areas.

Before applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.

The role is a very “hands on” position and you will ideally be flexible enough to get involved in other aspects of the role outside of the core duties. You will be involved in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for projects, supporting bids from initial enquiry through to contract award.

Working closely as part of a team, you will assess project requirements, identify risks and help secure profitable new work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and tender documents.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, plant and subcontractor packages.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Produce tender submissions that are accurate, competitive and delivered on time.
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value-engineering options.
  • Attend site visits, pre-tender meetings and post-tender interviews.
  • Maintain accurate estimating records, cost databases and supplier information.
  • Support handovers to the commercial and project delivery teams.
  • Operate in a key client facing role, building strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor market rates and construction cost trends.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
