Estimators (Trainee to Managing Estimator)
North East | Main Contractor | Excellent Career Progression
We're currently working with a well-established, privately-owned construction business with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality projects across a diverse range of sectors.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured and negotiated work, our client is looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with the appointment of Estimators at all levels, from Trainee and Assistant Estimators through to Senior and Managing Estimators.

Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing competitive and accurate tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Producing detailed take-offs and cost estimates
- Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Identifying value engineering opportunities
- Responding to client and consultant queries during the tender process
- Working closely with commercial, design and operational teams
- Attending tender meetings and occasional site visits
Requirements
Suitable candidates will have:
- Previous estimating experience within a main contracting environment
- Good understanding of construction methods, procurement and pricing
- Strong measurement and cost planning skills
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisational abilities
- A proactive and collaborative approach to work
- Experience using estimating software such as Causeway would be advantageous but is not essential
