📍 Location: South Yorkshire
💰 Salary: Up to £80,000 + Excellent Benefits
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join an established commercial team, working on groundworks and reinforced concrete (RC) structures packages across the building and civil engineering sectors.
With a strong pipeline of secured projects and frameworks, this role supports continued growth for a leading specialist contractor with over 25 years in the industry. You will be joining an organization that operates multiple live sites across the UK and delivers high-profile projects valued between £5m and £30m+.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders from first principles, providing commercial insight throughout the full tender lifecycle, and supporting the successful transition of projects into delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and competitive tenders directly from drawings and specifications.
- Prepare detailed rates from first principles for Bills of Quantities.
- Measure and take off quantities accurately from construction drawings.
- Lead target price and tender review processes.
- Liaise with senior management to incorporate strategic input into bids.
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure firm, competitive quotations.
- Manage multiple tenders concurrently across various stages.
- Request and manage RFI processes with clients and design teams.
- Attend pre- and post-contract meetings.
- Successfully handover won tenders to construction delivery teams.
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
About You
- Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in groundworks and/or reinforced concrete structures (essential).
- Track Record: Proven success converting tenders on projects valued up to £30m.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methodologies and modern building technology.
- Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and proactively within a fast-paced environment.
