As our work across the New Build, Social Housing and Commercial sectors continues to grow, we are looking for an engaged and motivated Estimator to join our expanding Commercial Team at our Head Office in Dunfermline.
Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will work on a varied portfolio of tenders for major housebuilders, local authorities and commercial clients across Scotland and Northern England. You will gain valuable exposure to tendering, sales support and pre-contract mobilisation, with increasing responsibility as your skills develop.

The Role
This is more than a traditional estimating role. You will be supported to build commercial responsibility while gaining direct exposure to project management, clients, operational teams and the supply chain.
- Prepare competitive tenders across New Build, Social Housing and Commercial projects.
- Review specifications and contract requirements to develop compliant solutions.
- Price products, building works and services using specialist software and other estimating methods.
- Work with the supply chain to secure accurate and competitive costings.
- Complete tender submissions and package pre-start information for manufacturing and operations.
- Analyse tender feedback and help improve estimating systems and processes.

About You
You will ideally have experience in Estimating, Procurement, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, with some understanding of commercial contracts. Applications are also welcomed from candidates with strong technical or financial skills who can demonstrate the potential and motivation to develop.
- Strong written, verbal, numerical and analytical skills.
- Commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple tenders and priorities effectively.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and a willingness to learn.
Previous estimating or construction experience would be beneficial, but extensive product knowledge is not essential. Full training will be provided on CR Smith products, services, systems and specialist specification software.
