Estimator

Hampshire | Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home | Permanent

Competitive salary + benefits

I’m supporting an established energy infrastructure business looking for an Estimator to join its tendering team, working on HV projects across the industrial, renewables and utility sectors.

Covering projects typically between 11kV and 132kV, you’ll take ownership of estimates from initial enquiry through to tender submission and handover. The work includes substations, grid connections, cabling and associated electrical equipment.

This would suit someone who enjoys getting into the technical detail, challenging costs and working closely with engineering and delivery teams to build competitive, achievable bids.

The role

  • Build estimates from first principles, covering equipment, materials, labour, subcontractors, preliminaries and risk.
  • Review drawings, single line diagrams and specifications to establish scope, exclusions and assumptions.
  • Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Identify project risks, programme constraints and opportunities to improve costs.
  • Work with Design, Engineering, Procurement and Operations throughout the tender process.
  • Prepare tender submissions, respond to queries and support handover to the delivery team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
