Estimator – Civil Engineering/Highways – Bolton – Permanent – Up to £70,000 salary
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our commercial team based at the Bolton office, with the flexibility of one day per week hybrid working from home if required. The role involves travelling to and working on sites throughout the North West. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and submitting accurate estimates for highways schemes, utilising both existing schedules of rates and first principles estimating methods using software such as Candy. You will negotiate directly with clients on existing Direct Award Frameworks.

Duties:
- Conduct site meetings
- Take measurements, and agree on methods of working
- Engagement with clients during Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phases for future schemes is also a key part of the role
- Working closely with the Procurement Manager to develop key supply chain partnerships
- Leading the company’s bids on PQQ and framework submissions
- Preparing Social Value Matrices for all commercial bids
- Assisting the commercial team with compensation events and marketing strategy

The package includes:
- A competitive salary of £65,000 to £70,000

Skills:
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in Highways Estimating or Senior Quantity Surveyor role
- Proficient in Causeway, Candy, or similar estimating software
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Experience in commercial/engineering roles within the highways industry
- Working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
