Role Description
The Estimator / Quantity Surveyor (QS) is a full-time, on-site role based in Huddersfield. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for landscaping projects, including materials, labor, subcontractor quotations, and equipment requirements. The Estimator / QS will review drawings, specifications, and tender documents, carry out site visits, and gather pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors. Day-to-day tasks include:

The role also includes:
- Liaising with project managers, designers, and clients
- Maintaining cost records
- Contributing to value engineering and project reporting
To ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- Strong estimating and quantity surveying skills, including cost planning, budgeting, and tender preparation for landscaping or construction projects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contracts, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to use spreadsheets and estimating software for measurement, cost analysis, and reporting; strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
- Knowledge of landscaping, grounds maintenance, or construction processes and materials; previous sector experience is highly beneficial.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to carry out site visits as required.
