Job Opportunity: Assistant or Mid-Level Estimator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for either an Assistant or a mid-level Estimator to join an established and highly regarded main contractor delivering a diverse range of complex and high-value schemes across the UK, from £50m - £350m+.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious estimator who has developed a solid grounding in construction estimating and is now looking to take the next step in their career within a professional, collaborative, and commercially focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates and tenders for building projects.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, and other tender documentation.
  • Obtaining and analyzing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Identifying opportunities, risks, and potential cost savings within tenders.
  • Producing bills of quantities, pricing schedules, and tender submissions.
  • Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients as required.
  • Supporting the preparation of tender programmes and preliminaries.
  • Attending tender meetings, site visits, and clarification meetings.
  • Working closely with the commercial and construction teams to ensure a smooth handover of successful projects.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of current market conditions, labor rates, material costs, and subcontractor pricing.

  • 3+ years Estimating experience.
  • Experience working for either a tier 1 main contractor or a large tier 2 main contractor.
  • Experience across the commercial sector, any other sectors are a bonus.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and estimating software.
